One coffee in the morning, one at lunch and one at each meeting or when you hang out with your friends. Coffee seems to be the best source of energy, it saves us when we have not managed to get enough sleep, and for many of us, it’s also a habit.

Due to the quantity of caffeine, drinking coffee in excess might have some pretty unpleasant side effects: dizziness, hot flushes, insomnia, and anxiety. Not to mention the side effects that occur when you suffer from certain medical conditions for which caffeine is not recommended: hypertension, psoriasis, gastric reflux and other.

Specialists say that we should limit ourselves to 400 mg of caffeine per day. If we prepare the coffee with an average concentration, it adds up to maximum 5 or 6 cups a day, or if you’re used to drinking your coffee in larger mugs, keep in mind that a maximum of 2 or 3 cups per day is more than enough.

Consider the fact that these rules apply to a healthy adult and in case you’re going into Italiano mode and you prefer your dose of caffeine being taken as espresso, limit to 3 cups a day.
